Now it’s official: volaer.io is flying under new management from now on. Martin Sheldon will take over the management of the business with immediate effect and will preside over volaer.io GmbH as Managing Director.
His professional career shows competence and is the best recommendation for this task. He started his professional career 40 years ago in the construction industry. In the course of the German reunification, he later supervised transport projects of the German Unification (VDE) for Deutsche Bahn in the new federal states, before he took over the management of a TÜV Rheinland company about 10 years later. During this time, he worked on projects worldwide with a focus on railroad technology, traffic telematics and tolls. He also led the ‘Future Mobility’ strategy project at TÜV Rheinland AG. In 2018, he then founded Sheldon Consult Beteiligungs- und Beratungsgesellschaft mbH and has since been offering business development support primarily to SMEs and startups.
And where will the journey for volaer.io go with him?
He says: “I hope that together with the OECON family and the volaer.io team we will succeed in developing volaer.io into the “go to” solution provider for autonomous drone applications in German-speaking countries. This is certainly also in the spirit of Ralf Schmitt.”
It was a shock for us when we had to unexpectedly say goodbye to our CEO Ralf Schmitt last year. His sudden death has left a big gap. Günther Kasties, Managing Partner of OECON Holding & Consulting GmbH, then spontaneously took over the management of the company, but this was not to be a permanent solution. Now we are even more pleased to have found a successor in Martin Sheldon, who will continue the business in Ralf’s spirit and who will actively take the fate of volaer.io GmbH into his hands.
